7 things to look forward to at Learn Inbound 2017

Since its inception in 2013, Learn Inbound has hosted esteemed marketing experts from around the world. Speakers including Rand Fishkin, Bas van den Beld, and Gianluca Fiorelli have played host to hundreds of eager marketers in venues around Dublin.

On 1st November, like-minded marketers will gather again for an all-day event in the Round Room in the Mansion House for the biggest and baddest Learn Inbound yet.

As always, 256 will be there, flying the flag for content marketing. Apart from the opportunity to rub shoulders with the good folk of 256’s Content Team, why else should you come along to Dublin’s number one marketing event?

1. Actionable insights from inbound experts

Lexi Mills. Oli Gardner. Wil Reynolds. Michael King. And that’s not to mention the six other multi-talented speakers who’ll take to the Learn Inbound stage over the course of the day.

Talks include chatbots, building high-performing self-managed teams, local search, influencer marketing, connecting with content, SEO and data.

It’s gonna be great!

2. Spook-tacular Halloween workshops

Our very own Kirstie McDermott will be going on a 90-minute deep-dive into your audience and how to laser-target your content for first class results.

You’ll learn how to drill into key stats to discover what’s working; how content is different from advertising; and how to track and measure your content efforts. She’ll be in the Brickhouse from 11:00am on October 31st. In the lead up to her talk, you can follow her on Twitter here.

There will be three more workshops on the day too. Bing’s Purna Virji will be opening the workshops with her talk, ‘The art and science of ad copy.’ She’ll be touching on her experience as part of the Microsoft advertising team. You’ll learn how to brainstorm effectively; the five principles of marketing copy; and how to create a framework to better understand your audience.

BuzzSumo’s Stephen Walsh will be taking on the lunchtime slot with his workshop on Facebook. BuzzSumo analysed 100 million Facebook videos and article headlines and this session will give you all the practical tips you need to optimise your posts for peak efficiency.

Rounding out the quartet is Andy Barr from 10 Yetis. He’ll show you how to get the most from campaigns as well as giving an insight into how to spot a rogue influencer in the wild with his workshop, ‘The influencer playbook – how to run a campaign from scratch.’

3. Getting to the bottom of data

Two of Learn Inbound’s speakers will be dedicating their slot to data: Oli Gardner will be tackling data-driven design while Annie Chushing, Outspoken Media’s Chief Data Officer, will be taking on data bubbles and how to burst them.

Expect lots of actionable insights into building data-based dashboards, aligning data from multiple touchpoints, how to narrow down hundreds of data sources to the ones you actually need, and how to design projects in an increasingly data-fuelled marketing environment.

No doubt, there will be plenty of takeaways for your own marketing endeavours.

4. Food for thought

Because effective learning is powered by tasty food, The Mansion House’s catering team will be serving up hot food for lunch with tea and coffee breaks throughout the course of the day.

5. Networking

Rub shoulders with super-smart marketers from all around the globe. With a stellar line-up of speakers, Learn Inbound is expected to attract 600 of the best and brightest marketers.

Bring your business cards and get ready to (net)werk.

6. The SEO show

If SEO is your jam, then get ready for a super-informative day. Mike Ramsey will talk local marketing; Aleyda Solis will be discussing SEO actions for mobile-first and the ins and out of AMP; and SEER Interactive’s Wil Reynolds is going to teach you loads about using PPC to supercharge your SEO efforts.

Trust us: it’ll be as good as it sounds.

7. The afterparty in NOlita

Mingle with over 600 marketers, some of the speakers, the sponsors (ourselves included) over a beer, a cocktail, or a glass of wine. (Or a glass of SEO juice, if you’re partial to terrible SEO jokes.)

To keep things cheery, there’ll even be tasty snacks on offer to keep your mind focused as you get to that all-important networking.
